Volunteering

What is volunteering all about?

Our volunteers are the backbone of Hoops Connect and play an important role not only in the sporting life, but also the everyday life, of the participants they coach. Hoops Connect provides volunteers with a unique and rewarding opportunity to engage in our competition nights. We couldn’t run it without your support.

Reasons to get involved

· To help others and make a difference in the community

· To develop new skills and have a unique experience

· To meet new people and make friends

· To gain work experience

· To help make the community a better place for all members

· To be involved in the community

What is expected to be a volunteer coach?

To be an effective coach, you will need a number of skills. A coach needs knowledge of the sport, but more importantly, they need to know how to pass that knowledge onto the participants they are coaching.

Working with Children's Check (WWCC)

Hoops Connect requires all volunteers to have a current Working With Children (WWC) check prior to starting. You must provide your WWCC Number when you register online to be a Coach. The WWC Check is FREE for volunteers and is valid for 5 years.

To apply for your WWCC, click on the link below and follow the instructions. Once you apply you need to visit the motor registry to show proof of ID and complete the process.
